UCM鈥檚 Accountancy B.S. was developed with input from accounting professionals and AACSB to create a more focused undergraduate accounting curriculum designed around the skills students need for today鈥檚 profession.

UCM鈥檚 Accountancy B.S. gives you a broad understanding of accounting while helping you build the analytical, technology and problem-solving skills today's employers expect.

Your coursework will cover areas such as financial accounting, individual and corporate taxation, managerial accounting, accounting information systems, auditing and advanced accounting.

  • ACCT 4155 鈥 Fraud Risk Management/Examination: Explore fraud risk, prevention and examination while building skills relevant to forensic accounting and organizational risk.

UCM emphasizes learning through experience so you can build confidence before you graduate.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA): Complete training and certification, then gain real client experience by helping prepare tax returns for UCM students, employees and community members. In a recent year, UCM students completed 140 tax returns and helped return approximately $82,000 in refunds to area families.

Internships: Most Accountancy students complete a paid internship for college credit. A dedicated internship director helps students connect with opportunities that can build professional experience and strengthen their resumes.

Meet the Firms: Connect directly with accounting employers and professionals through UCM鈥檚 Meet the Firms networking event and other professional activities.

Accountancy Student Organization: All Accountancy majors gain automatic membership to the Accountancy Student Organization, giving you additional opportunities to connect with classmates and participate in program activities.
